Her experience includes acquisitions, refinancings, construction loans, portfolio financings, and securitized lending transactions, including matters involving multi-state portfolios and sophisticated ownership structures. Maria works closely with national and regional lenders, developers, investors, and institutional clients to address title, survey, zoning, access, and transaction structure issues and develop practical solutions that help facilitate successful closings.

Maria is known for her responsiveness, analytical approach, and ability to balance legal and underwriting considerations with business objectives to help clients navigate challenging transactions and reach successful outcomes.

❝

I approach every transaction with the mindset that effective underwriting involves more than identifying risk. My goal is to help clients and business partners navigate complex issues, develop practical solutions, and keep transactions moving forward. I pride myself on being responsive, collaborative, and providing straightforward guidance, particularly when legal, underwriting, and business considerations must be carefully balanced.

Maria lives in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. She has two sons, one in college and one in high school. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, running, and attending concerts.
