In October, we sent a Chicago Title NCS Chicago News Brief email with our corporate memo to customers with important information regarding the new 2016 ALTA commitment form. The details include revisions and important clarifications regarding the obligations of all parties.

Effective January 1, 2018, Public Act 100-22 (SB9) authorized
the Illinois Department of Revenue ("IDOR") to provide a uniform statewide system for the filing of notices for state tax liens. IDOR will no longer be recording its liens or releases with local county recorders; instead, it will now maintain its own searchable lien registry to file state tax liens in their online database.

Kathy McCoy serves as Assistant Vice President and Escrow Officer for our CT NCS Chicago operation. Kathy joined the company in 1998 as a contract closer in the residential department. In 2005, Kathy joined the NCS Chicago operation full time working on residential closings and closed many residential condominium projects. She currently works on local and national commercial transactions with a wide variety of customers and tackles all of her closings with professionalism and efficiency.

New Regional Counsel Announcement
We are pleased to announce that Walt Adams has been appointed our new Regional Counsel for Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
Walt is a native of Paris, Illinois. He graduated from Indiana University and from Southern Illinois School of Law. He started working for Chicago Title in Illinois in 1986. He has been an examiner, title officer, claims counsel, and county office manager. He is currently working out of the FNTG office in Morris, Illinois.
Walt is active in the Illinois Land Title Association and is a past president of the association.
